Final Double Page Spread

Double Page Spread Drafts

After making the template, I added the interview, captions, and used different colours and graphics such as stars to add interest and colour to the layout. I opted for a large caption over the image as it drew attention to the image and added to the girly look that I wanted it to have. The bright yellow star in the upper right corner grabbed the readers attention to the title.

Starting the double page spread

I had photoshopped this photograph earlier in the project and really liked it, so decided to use it for the double page spread.

I decided to use an interview style of text and made the above image as a template to work from.

Pictures for the contents page

I decided to only use three pictures for the contents page, one to advertise the main cover story of Kimberly Miller's interview, and two others to advertise other parts of the magazine. I chose to use few pictures as I wanted to use text and graphics to create interest on the front cover rather than photographs.

Adding the text

I added in the contents and also put 'COVER STORY' where a content which was mentioned on the front cover was listed, as I thought this broke up the blocks of text and made it look more interesting. I kept the colour theme very girly with pinks and purples and also added stars to create interest and add to the 'childish' image.
